Perched high above the city, the Kasbah of Agadir Oufella (meaning “Upper Agadir” in Amazigh) was built in 1540 by the Saadian Sultan Mohammed ech-Cheikh to protect the port from naval incursions. Following the devastating 1960 earthquake, the site preserved the famous hillside inscription: “God, Country, King”.
A multi-year restoration completed in 2023 has revitalized the fortress with elevated wooden boardwalks, informative historical exhibits, and Morocco’s first modern cable car system (telephérique), connecting the base near Tildi to the fortress summit in a thrilling panoramic flight.
Per person including roundtrip van transfer and return cable car ticket. Daily departures available.
The telephérique journey takes approximately 5 to 6 minutes each way, covering 1.7 kilometers while climbing 236 meters with unobstructed floor-to-ceiling glass panoramic views.
